WU SHANG-YUNG
Artist Biography
Wu Shang-Yung (b.1988, Taipei, Taiwan) graduated from National Taiwan University of Arts, master degree of Painting and Calligraphy Arts in 2015. He currently lives and works in Taipei as an artist and the director of the Association of the Visual Arts in Taiwan.
The artist has been dedicating himself on painting, image, and installations for years. The subjects of his works often focus on the deconstruction of daily phenomena, and the dialects of inertial logic. He discovers the shift of the essence with non-linear thinking. His expression of work is to combine the eastern Taoism philosophy, visual psychology, and sociology. And he tries to construct a tranquil, poetic surrealistic realm between the multi spiritual senses and the interweaving of routes of thoughts.
