XIE YUANQING
Artist Biography
Xie Yuanqing was born in Guangzhou, China in 1975, and graduated in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor’s degree in sculpture in 1999. He acquired his master’s degree in sculpture in 2005. His artworks received a variety of awards. Xie's work is beholden both natural forms and sculpted forms to alter the natural, the relationship between natural and sculpted form finds itself a keen point of focus in Xie's art, allowing his individual works to achieve an unity in a pleasant way. Relatively erasing seriousness, His artworks are with full of life energy. Over the superficial level of forms and the physical interrelation of Xie's sculptures, it lies beyond the visual, to explore underlying issues related to social class and structure.
