ZHOU JIN
Artist Biography
Zhou Jin was born in Zhejiang, China in 1970. He graduated from the department of Chinese painting at China Academy of Art (former Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts) in 1993 and received master and Ph.D. in 1997 and 2007 respectively. He was an associate professor of the department of Chinese painting at China Academy of Art between 1997 and 2006. He is currently an associate professor of the department of Fine Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong since 2006. Zhou is a member of Chinese Artists Association and Chinese Painting Institute in Hong Kong.

Zhou received Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Awards in 2009; Outstanding Artworks Award in the 9th and 10th China National Fine Arts Exhibition; Silver award for the Zhejiang section in the 9th China National Fine Arts Exhibition; Gold award in the 11th Fine Arts Exhibition of Zhejiang province; Silver award in the Zhejiang Chinese Painting exhibition. Works by the artist had been widely collected by museums and art institutes, including Zhejiang Art Museum, Hangzhou, China; Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong; Legislative Council of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China ; China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, China; Hangzhou Chinese Painting Academy, Hangzhou, China ; Shenzhen Fine Art Institute, Shenzhen, China; Tsinghua University, Beijing, China ; The University of Virginia, Virginia, US and Zhou Changgu Art Museum, Wenzhou, China.
